RELX Infinity: Super Smooth Tech and On the Go Charging!
[ad_1]
The RELX Infinity is a beginner vape that takes prefilled pods. The RELX Pod Pro pods hold 1.9 mL of juice and come in a variety of flavors and nicotine strengths. But that’s not all. The Infinity features a dual-charging system, allowing it to be charged on the go with the use of one of the two charging cases (sold separately), and has won the 2020 Red Dot award for product design.
Before going into the review of the Infinity, it’s worth noting that the device is not currently available for a purchase in the US. With that out of the way, keep reading to find out what I think of the Infinity, and if it is a vape that can help transitioning smokers quit the cigs.

The RELX infinity measures at 112 mm x 23 mm x 10 mm and weighs in at around 25 grams with a full pod on. It is very similar in size and weight to RELX’s previous offering, the RELX Classic, but it feels better in the hand due to the more rounded design. Overall, it is a very practical and lightweight vape that can easily fit in your pocket and you’ll forget it is there.
What I really liked on the Infinity is the shape of the mouthpiece. I was a bit skeptical at first as I thought that the Classic came with a more ergonomic mouthpiece shape, but it soon grew on me. The fact that it’s flat makes it very comfortable on the lips. Talking about the pods, my one complaint is that they do wiggle a bit when placed in the battery. They will rattle if you move the battery, but the magnets are strong and I haven’t had a pod accidentally pop out.
RELX incorporated a vibrating mechanism on the Infinity and, while I thought it was a bit gimmicky at first, it does help with user experience. The gimmicky part is the vibration when you insert the pod in the battery. But it will also vibrate when you hit it 15 times inside a 15-minute period, which is a useful feature for those who want to monitor their consumption. Finally, there is a dotted circle made out of LED lights up front, which will light up every time you inhale and also serve as a battery indicator (more on that later on). I wish they took advantage of the tiny dots and used them as a stepped battery indicator, but I guess that would have been a bit complicated from a tech perspective.
All in all, I am not surprised that the Infinity won the Red Dot award. It is a well-made and classy looking vape with some interesting and well-executed design ideas.
As with all prefilled pods, operating the RELX Infinity is as easy as it gets. You just need to take a pod out of its wrap, remove the cap and the silicon plugs from the top and the bottom, insert it into the battery and inhale on the mouthpiece. I like the fact that they included these tiny silicon plugs. I’ve had my fair share of leaking pods in the past, and finding a pool of juice inside the pod wrap is never a good indicator. Seems to me that RELX have done their homework, and it is the small touches like this that elevate a vape—especially when it is aiming at beginner vapers.
Every pod comes with a QR code, and you can check for authenticity if you scan it. I’ll also note that the pods I received were not color-coded, which caused me some issues while testing the flavors. But after talking with RELX, they ensured me that the retail version of the pods will come with a differently colored bottom for each flavor.
One word: smooth! The Infinity pods incorporate RELX’s Super Smooth Tech and FEELM’s latest pod design, with the pods made out of a whopping eight parts. They call that the “leak-resistant maze”, and I for one can vouch that the tech combination provides a great, hassle-free vape. On top of that, it’s almost completely silent! They claim that the sound it produces is under 10 decibels—I can’t measure that, but I can ensure you that it’s one of the most silent vapes I’ve ever tried.
I received four types of prefilled pods, 0%, 3%, 5% and the EU edition which comes in 1.8% nicotine. I’ll also note that all the pods I received are mentholated, and they sure used a lot of menthol in them. Menthol juices tend to hit harder, and these pods are no exception.
The 5% and 3% pods are strong as expected. Heavy smokers should probably go for the 5% pods while half-a-pack smokers will probably be content with the 3% ones. The interesting thing was that they weren’t that much different to each other. The 5% do feel stronger, but certainly not almost twice as strong.
The 1.8% pods were a pleasant surprise. Most of the times, companies that offer 5% salt pods tend to produce weak EU editions. But that’s not the case here. Their 18 mg/mL pods have benzoic acid in their ingredients, which means that they also contain nicotine salts. But these pods hit very close to the 3% pods, which makes me think that they must have used some type of hybrid nicotine. As an EU vaper, nine out of the ten prefilled pod vapes I try feel weak and unsatisfying. These are easily some of the most satisfying pods in this product category.
Last but not least, the 0% pods. Interestingly, and obviously due to the menthol content, even these come with a throat hit—or at least an illusion of it. Simply put, if you are planning on going nic-free, these pods are an excellent choice. In fact, I may have cut down my nic consumption a bit, as I’ve been hitting the 0% menthol pod a lot these last two days. But be prepared: if you chain vape those, they will make your brain freeze!
Are the flavors any good?
As I said in the previous section, all the flavors I received come with (a lot of) menthol. RELX claims that flavors vary depending on the market and that not all of them are cooled, but the only non-menthol flavors I’ve been able to find are their two tobaccos (which were not in my review package.) Note that the starter kit comes barebones with no pods included. So, if you are planning on purchasing it, make sure you add some pods to your basket. So, without further ado, here’s what I thought of the flavors I received.
Menthol Plus
That’s a heavy hitting super cool menthol flavor, with a spearmint or peppermint twist. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but it may be a great option for those coming from smoking menthol cigarettes. No complaints here. But, as I noted in the previous section, this is not for the faint hearted when it comes to cooling—it will give you brain freeze if you overdo it.
Fresh Red
This is a simple watermelon flavor, with a bit of mint at the background. It is not overly sweet and, outside of the cooling part, it is a very balanced flavor. I really enjoyed this one. It’s very refreshing and a great summer vape.
Tangy Purple
That’s an interesting one. I for one love it, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. It is predominantly a grape flavor, but the way grape is usually interpreted in e-juice. It feels like a well-rounded version of a grape DIY e-liquid I’ve been struggling in the past with. I have to give them props: they did a much better job than I did with it.
Raspy Ruby
This is a straightforward minty raspberry flavor and one of the least complex flavors of the collection. I am not a huge fan of raspberry vapes, but I kinda liked this one. I just found it a bit too floral for my taste.
Ludou Ice
I had to google that one, because its flavor was, well, a completely new experience for me. Turns out it recreates an Asian desert with the main ingredient being mung bean. This must be an acquired taste type of thing, because I didn’t manage to vape more than a couple of puffs of it. I guess if you know what mung bean is, and you like it, it may be something that you’d enjoy. But it sure isn’t for me.
Golden Slice
This, along with Dark Sparkle, are my two favorites of the line. This is a very refreshing mango flavor that I enjoyed so much that I went through two 5.0% pods in a day. To be fair, you can’t really mess up mango nowadays in e-liquid, but this shouldn’t take away from the fact that they nailed it. Two thumbs up.
Garden’s Heart
It’s a cooled strawberry milk flavor, which sounds a bit weird on paper but it kinda works. It’s not my favorite, but I really like the strawberry they used here, and it feels like the least mentholated flavor of the bunch. On the other hand, this is probably the one flavor that they could have avoided using menthol with.
Dark Sparkle
And last but not least, one of the best cola flavors I’ve ever hard, period. In fact, this may be the only cola flavor I’ve ever enjoyed in vaping! On top of that, they used the right amount of cooling, which makes it feel kinda fizzy too. This flavor is a winner and I am already planning on buying some extra pods.
Battery life and charging
The device charges through a Type-C port that’s placed at the bottom of the battery. As I mentioned in the intro, I was also sent two charging cases for the Infinity, one with a 1000 mAh capacity and another with 1500 mAh capacity. These have a 1-amp output, which is also the rate on which the Infinity charges through a wall charger. It took my Infinity around 45 minutes to fully charge through my 2-amp charger, and I expect a similar charging time from the cases.
RELX claims that the battery lasts for 500-650 puffs. I can’t test the validity of this number, but I can ensure you that it does last for long. I got around half a pod on a charge, but these are 1.9 mL pods and you’d be hard pressed to go through half a 5% pod within a day.
The dotted LED light on the front of the device will flash slowly when the device is charging and will stay lit when it is fully charged. The light will also light up white when you are using the device and will flash slowly red when the charge is low. A red light flashing 10 times means that your device is out of charge. The battery indication system is easy to grasp, but the red light appears a bit too late in my opinion. A third color in between white and red would have been nice to have.
Now let’s talk about what RELX calls the “dual-charging system”. There are two charging cases currently available (1000 and 1500 mAh,) and they charge the battery through the pogo pins that are at the sides of the USB port. The cases are very well-made and feature semi-transparent lids that allow the LED light to be visible from the outside. Note that you can remove the battery out of the cases by lightly pushing it at the bottom and sliding it upwards. The larger case is just 12 grams heavier than the smaller one (74 vs 62 grams) and while almost twice as wide, it is much thinner. I personally prefer using the large one because it fits easier in my pocket, but your mileage may vary. All in all, the charging cases are an excellent idea, and I’d strongly recommend grabbing one of those if you can.
- Very easy to use
- Compact and super-lightweight
- Great hand feel
- Comfortable mouthpiece
- Leakproof pod design
- Many flavors and nic strengths to pick from
- Hard-hitting pods (even the 18 mg/mL ones)
- Solid flavor options (and the best cola vape I’ve ever had)
- Super smooth draw
- Practically silent
- Vibration useful to monitor consumption
- Charging cases are a great idea (and look good too)
- Good battery life
- Quick charging (through Type-C)
- I was only able to try menthol-heavy flavors
- No tobacco pods in my package
- Starter kit comes without pods
Overall, the Infinity is a great option for beginner vapers and transitioning smokers. It is very easy to use, offers many options in nicotine strengths and flavors, and it is a very satisfying vape. In fact, it is probably the smoothest vape I’ve had in this product category, and I for one can vouch for the technology they implemented on the pods. The charging cases are also an excellent idea for those who are spending a lot of time away from home.
As you can see in the list above, I couldn’t find many cons with that device. But there is one that could potentially be a deal breaker for some. I only received mentholated flavors, and the only flavors I could find without menthol when checking online were their tobaccos—which didn’t come in the package they sent me. I wish I had included some uncooled flavors, and I sure wish I had tried their tobaccos; most transitioning smokers get into vaping with tobacco pods.
I will update this review if they send me a tobacco pod to try, but even without that, I can recommend the Infinity. But that’s only if you don’t mind a cool vape; if you don’t like menthol, then this may not be for you.
My first attempt at vaping came back in 2009 on some of the first cigalikes to ever reach Europe. A couple of attempts — and vaping tech generations later — I managed to quit smoking in 2016, and have since then developed somewhat of an obsession with all things vaping. When I am not consuming vape reviews I am either tinkering my NBA fantasy teams or playing board games with friends.
